This is a look at behind the dash to give insight and provide a picture in order to give one confidence to doing their own vehicle repair. I find these type of videos to be very useful for tackling such projects such as replacing a Heater Core. I used a bypass valve for months to avoid the Anti-Freeze from doing a spilly willy all over the floor passengers side. I also utilized a power inverter (750W) and a hair dryer (6$) on low hand-held to defrost the windows. In my experience using a 12V Heater is not suffice.

We provide the most indepth and custom automotive electrical service in Northern Colorado. In this video we show you how to convert your 1953 Chevy Pickup from 6 volts to 12 volts. Key Items: Make sure your vehicle is negativly grounded. This means the negative side of the battery gets connected to the frame. Make sure you have the correct engine before ordering Alternator brackets. GM and Chevy had different engines, and the brackets are different for the alternator. Make sure you replace all the light bulbs. They will burn out quick if you don't. I take them all out, count how many of each I need, and then run to the auto parts store and match the base with a 12 volt bulb. I have never had an issue finding a replacement. The rear tail lights on this vehicle are LED. The customer supplied me with them and I think they are from Brothers Trucks. They are extremly bright and very much worth the money. YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED IN THE INTENSITY IF YOU JUST CHANGE THE REAR TAIL LIGHT BULBS! The existing housing does not have good reflective properties, and even a 12 volt light does not show up very well. When pulling a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer it is convenient to be able to plug the trailers electrical connector right into the bed of the truck. This is safer for the wiring and easier for you as you will not have to spend time securing the wiring along the trailer and then back down to the bumper. Most trucks have factory installed tow packages and custom wiring which can be quickly added and installed in the truck bed. Here Chris has a video showing us what he had to do to set up a 1998 Chevy truck, you will be surprised at how fast it can be done. Today we are going to install harness 20023 on a 1998 Chevy Silverado. Step one is we are going to pick a location in the bed to mount the 7 pole. Right here next to the wheel well so you will have a short distance between the 5th wheel hookup and the plug itself. You want to make sure that you have enough clearance on the back side of this piece of metal to mount the plug basically so you do not drill through to the other side and so you have enough room to mount it as well. 2-3/8 inch hole saw here and drill it right here through the side of the bed. Once we have the hole drilled through the side of the bed we want to feed the harness down through the hole and down the side of the bed. Once the harness is fed through you want to center the plug and mark the holes. So we can drill out ...
